Vegas Trip 2007

I went back to the Hoover Dam on Friday. This year I arrived in time to take a tour. It was pretty cool. An interesting fact about the dam is that electricity is merely a byproduct of the dam. It's main purpose is to prevent flooding and provide water for the surrounding states. But it can make a heck of a lot of juice when it has to. It can produce more than 2000 MegaWatts of power. By comparison, Emett Brown's flux capacitor only required 1210 MegaWatts of power.

Here are the generators that produce the electricity at the dam. The turbines that spin them are located beneath the floor.

There were some cool views of Lake Mead and the surrounding mountainous regions on the ride to and from the dam.

On Saturday, I went sightseeing. This is a picture of one of the lions that live at the MGM Grand Casino.

I walked through Caesar's Palace. It's pretty glitzy in there.

But in my opinion, nothing beats the decor at the Bellagio. It's so beautiful in there.

I took some videos of the Fountains of Bellagio and the volcano at The Mirage, but they'll take all night to upload to Google Video, so I'll have to post them later.

Oh, and just to rub it in, it was 82° in Vegas today. Time to get out the shorts.
